In search of dishes for a showstopping coronation celebration? Look no further. Margie Nomura, the chef, food writer, creator and host of the much-loved podcast, Desert Island Dishes™ has delved into her recipe book.
You can read our interview with Margie and then tantalise your tastebuds with this perfect pair, fit for a king.
Coronation Chicken
Margie says: “Coronation chicken is the perfect dish to serve on the day the King is crowned; delicious in sandwiches or served with a simple crunchy green salad and some new potatoes. The secret? Cook the curry power for a few minutes in a little oil before mixing it with the mango chutney. I also like to use a blend of mayonnaise and Greek yogurt as I like the tang the yoghurt lends to the dish.”
Eton Mess
Margie says: “This has to be one of the most delicious classic British desserts. It’s so simple and can all be prepped well in advance, which makes it perfect for easy entertaining. Simply assemble when you’re ready to serve.”
